She turned around, surprised to see, not Zuko, but her uncle. Her hope of surviving this fight faded. How could she defeat the Dragon of the West, if she couldn’t beat her brother?
“Uncle,” she sneered.
“Would you mind telling me where your father is?” Iroh asked.
Azula smiled, but didn’t answer.
Iroh sighed. With astonishing speed he was pushing her against the wall. He reached for her throat. Azula blocked with her forearm, grabbed his wrist, and kicked him around her so his back was against the wall as well, her leg pinning him. She began to ignite fire in her hand, and aiming for his neck. A wheezed, muffled scream came out of his mouth. Quickly, Iroh broke away, grabbed her arms, burning them. He then let her go as she let out a shriek, folding over.
“No one will come for you, you know.” Iroh explained, guilt heavy in his voice.
“I’ll never tell you were my father is!” Azula screamed. Tears welled up in her eyes as she lunged, putting her injured arms forward, forcing as much fire as she could out of her hands. Iroh braced himself against the heat.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, just loud enough for her to hear. He stepped towards her slowly. Azula gasped as he jammed a dagger he was keeping in his cloak into her throat.
Iroh stared at her face several minutes after she was already dead. His body began heaving with sobs, yet no tears came out. He didn’t have enough.
